This is a surprisingly easy conversion from the homemade bagel recipe featured a few weeks ago. The tartness of dried cranberries add a very distinctive flavor which just can’t be found in factory-made bagels. They are just as easy as the original recipe but definitely crank up the flavor dial a few notches.

Anyone who has ever traveled to New York City or Chicago definitely has a first “real” bagel story. Our first experience was on a community service trip during spring break. This recipe makes a very close copy of those east coast bagels…yet they aren’t the same. Maybe its the New York water but this recipe is definitely worth giving a try.

Freshly baked bread is unlike anything you’ll find at the grocery store or local bakery. This traditional white bread makes an excellent loaf for sandwiches and is very easy to make. Thankfully, the recipe makes two loaves because we often eat an entire loaf as soon as it comes from the oven!
